Sky Hammer Press, the streaming team that brought you The Serpent & The Sands for Achtung! Cthulhu is back with a new actual play, this time venturing into the dark forests of Germania in Modiphius’ new epic Roman era TTRPG Cohors Cthulhu.
Falcones Fortunae is an eight-part play-through of “Rude Awakening,” the Cohors Cthulhu quickstart adventure, and you can get in on the action with their Session Zero show here. If you want to learn how to play Cohors Cthulhu, the series will include rules, explanations and pop-ups, perfect for those new to the 2d20 RPG system or just want to follow along with the rules.

Modiphius has commissioned the team to produce an 8-part learn-to-play series plus a session 0 to introduce the community to this new world. Episodes 1-3 will launch during the campaign next Monday, October 23rd at https://www.youtube.com/@skyhammerpress, and episodes will then air weekly.
The Falcones Fortunae cast includes Meric Moir as the GM, Jen Black-Moir as Brunnhilde, Nicole Ogle as Catti, Patrick McGean as Arnulf and Justin McDonald as Perdix Proetus.
In 2017, Meric and Jen started the Massive Damage Adventures podcast, where they set out to play a different TTRPG monthly with a different cast of players every time. By the fifth season, there had been over 50 players and 150 episodes. In the last few years as Sky Hammer Press, they have transitioned to streamed games and reviews featuring The Expanse (Hellbreakers), Cortex Prime (Wheel of Time: The Restless Blight), Star Trek Adventures (Shadows and Starlight) and Cypher System (Heroes of the Reef) as well as their learn to play YouTube shows with Achtung! Cthulhu (Falcons of Fortune), The Master’s Toolkit (CozyForging) and now Cohors Cthulhu (Falcones Fortunae). Meric has worked as a freelance writer for The Expanse RPG and Achtung! Cthulhu, with credits including the Malevolent Grove, Vive la Résistance and several Operations missions.
