Free League Publishing announced a new partnership with the award-winning creator Tania Herrero (Crown of Salt, Menagerie of Unbearable Things) and Johan Nohr (MÖRK BORG) for the upcoming epic folk horror tabletop RPG Fomoria. The Fomoria Kickstarter campaign is set to go live on April 7, 2026 and the game will be published under the Free League Workshop sublabel for externally developed games.
Conceived, written, and illustrated by Tania Herrero with graphic design by Johan Nohr, Fomoria is a dark, weird, and inhospitable subterranean world where the Sun is a myth and the “False Stars” of the earth’s roof offer the only light. Powered by a modified MÖRK BORG engine, players take on the role of the Folk – children of the lost Surface – navigating a living, breathing labyrinth of shifting tunnels known as the Strata.
Fomoria RPG Key Features
- A world built of monsters and bones, featuring 8 Folk races, 6 clans, and 6 Traditions (optional classes)
- An offset-printed hardcover rulebook (170×240mm) produced to the high standards of MÖRK BORG, CY_BORG, and the rest of Free League Publishing’s portfolio
- The campaign features a Limited Edition “Darkness” cover, a GM Screen, the Wyrd and Ruin zine of community-made adventures and expanded material, custom artisanal dice, and an atmospheric soundtrack by Pete Marsh and the Bogmen
A Fomoria Quickstart featuring base rules, 8 pre-generated characters, and the introductory adventure Spawn of the Hungering One is available for free download from the Kickstarter pre-launch page for those who wish to brave the depths before the April 7 launch.
