A Legend Reborn – Dragonbane RPG Late Pledge Now Available

“As sure as night follows day, the time will come again when dragons and demons fight for power over humanity, nature, and the eternal mysteries.”

A legend is reborn. The Late Pledge for the Dragonbane Kickstarter, the new edition of Sweden’s first and biggest tabletop RPG Drakar och Demoner, is now open. The highly anticipated classic fantasy RPG full of magic, mystery, and adventure was funded in just 4 minutes, raised more than $700k and unlocked 22 stretchgoals during the Kickstarter campaign.

The Dragonbane boxed set includes a core rulebook, several introductory adventures with pre-generated characters, and a beautiful map of the Misty Vale setting, created by the cartographer Francesca Baerald.

The set has expanded with 22 unlocked stretch goals, that includes solo mode, custom dice, custom cards, additional pre-generated characters, seven additional adventures and complete modules for the Foundry and Roll20 Virtual Tabletops.

Drakar och Demoner originally launched in 1982 and has been Scandinavias largest and most beloved tabletop RPG brand ever since. Now, Free League celebrates its 40th anniversary with a new edition based on the heritage of decades of Swedish gaming, updated through the innovative game design for which Free League has been praised for worldwide.

Dragonbane invites players to experience fantasy adventures of all kinds. However, it is also a game with room for laughs and a pinch of silliness. Do not, however, mistake it for an easy game. It will present formidable challenges for all adventurers. Free League call this playstyle “mirth and mayhem roleplaying” – great for long campaigns, but also perfect for a one-shot.

The mythology revolves around the eternal struggle between dragons and demons. The ruins of fallen kingdoms, that once worshipped either of these rival godlike creatures, beckon brave adventurers with the lure of hidden treasures.

Dragonbane has art by acclaimed illustrator Johan Egerkrans (Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying) and game design by the award-winning team behind Forbidden Lands, ALIEN RPG, Tales From the Loop RPG and the upcoming Blade Runner RPG.

The team of contributing writers include the elite of the Swedish tabletop RPG industry as well as acclaimed historical fiction author Niklas Natt och Dag (1793 The Wolf and the Watchman).
