When religion and politics travel in the same cart, the riders believe nothing can stand in their way. – Frank Herbert
In the new tabletop roleplaying game Dune: Adventures in the Imperium from Modiphius Entertainment, sandworms might be perennially popular and Arrakis a hot spot for political posturing and economic stability, but there’s an entire universe out there to conquer. Inspired by Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ upcoming feature film Dune from director Denis Villeneuve and the acclaimed novel by science fiction author Frank Herbert, players will engage in all manners of scheming, plotting, manipulating, and occasionally backstabbing to take their noble House from scrappy underdog to Patricians of the Galactic Imperium. Based on Modiphius’ award-winning 2D20 game system, Dune: Adventures in the Imperium is the perfect setting for players looking to flex their strategic muscles and edge out the competition to control the spice and, in turn, control the universe!
Dune: Adventures in the Imperium is available now in your friendly local retailers. Core Rulebook Standard Editions run from £44.99 along with the beautiful dice sets, journal, and Gamesmaster screen. The Atreides Collector’s Edition is available for £79.99 from the Modiphius store, while the Corrino Collectors Edition is available in local retailers and Harkonnen Edition from Amazon. Modiphius webstore shoppers can pick up the PDF or print copies of the core book and a variety of bundles on the product home page here.
Dune showcases a universe filled to the brim with cutthroat noble houses and Bismarckian alliances, galactic economics, bureaucratic machinations, imperial soldiers, dastardly assassins, religious zealots, and freedom fighting rebels. Dune: Adventures in the Imperium drops players right in the thick of it, as they take the reins of their own House or act as agents of one of the powerful Houses–like honorable House Atreides, the ruthlessly Machiavellian House Harkonnen–or attempt to hack it solo with a House of their own devising. The system also allows for two styles of play: Architect, for the player who prefers to remain in the shadows and direct the battlefield from the boardroom; and Agent, which caters to the type of player who likes to get their hands dirty, handling business up close and personal.
