LOS ANGELES – May 24, 2022 – iam8bit and Skybound Games, together with Chucklefish and Pixpil, have announced that Nintendo Switch physical editions for Eastward are now available on iam8bit.com and at retailers around the globe for $34.99 USD.

The captivating action adventure RPG launches on physical cartridges with an exclusive sticker pack of Eastward’s characters recreated in chibi-style. Check out the trailer showcasing the Eastward physical editions here and download additional assets here.

Limited runs of the iam8bit exclusive Eastward Collector’s Edition and vinyl soundtrack will also be coming later this year, and pre-orders can be placed at eastward.iam8bit.com. The limited Collector’s Edition features a first-of-its-kind physical game revelation – an original tabletop board game from acclaimed designer Erich Meyr (Squanch Games, Insomniac Games) and illustrator Ryan Brinkerhoff, plus an exclusive cover sheet by artist Laura Bifano. The vinyl has been made using recycled material and will also offer a unique package including an official board game. Players can experience either board separately or together for an all-encompassing map of the city for an epic Eastward tabletop game night.

Eastward is a pixel art adventure RPG, set in a society that is fast hurtling down the path of destruction, as an unknown and toxic presence begins to spread and poison the air. Those who could escape flocked to villages underground to start a new life, and as new generations were forged, they soon forgot all memories of the blue skies above. Sam and John, Eastward’s unlikely duo, join together as the hope of a thriving outside world beckons. The duo must escape the tyrannical clutches of subterranean society and travel across the world by rail to uncover the mystery of Sam’s powers, and the truth behind the deadly miasma.

About iam8bit

Founded in 2005, iam8bit is a creative production emporium that has quietly redefined the entertainment industry, time and time again. Collaborating with a plethora of partners and narrative-busting IPs, iam8bit punctuates the importance of engaging with fans directly. By creating the videogame industry’s very first community events, the company injected the idea of experiential immersion into game and film marketing (back when it was simply known as “theatre”). iam8bit also played a crucial role in the vinyl renaissance, minting its first record in 2010, and is the industry leader in premium physical editions of top-tier games. In 2020, iam8bit evolved into financing and publishing games, with several yet-to-be-announced PC, console and tabletop games on the horizon. The company is based in Los Angeles and co-owned/co-creatively directed by Jon M. Gibson and Amanda White. Visit iam8bit.com or follow @iam8bit on Instagram or Twitter.
