The geek community is very close to reaching its third goal of $750,000 for the Worldbuilders fundraiser for Heifer International.
 
Highlights of Wednesday
  • Galactic Journey took us back to back to 1965 – when Heifer International was 21 years old – for an old-school telethon with live performances by Marian Call, Acacia Weber, Lorelei Marcus, Gray Miller, and others (including Patrick Rothfuss himself!) Hosted by Gideon Marcus and Dana Pellebon, more than $5,000 was raised, including $1,000 in matching funds from Galactic Journey
  • Geekiest panel on Geek Podcasting in 2020 Featuring: Liz Brodzinski, Sarah Gulde, and Mur Lafferty – soon to be replayed on the Worldbuilders YouTube Channel

Background
Now through December 15, Worldbuilders is hosting several live stream panels and events, including an online charity auction, to raise money for Heifer International, supporting their humanitarian efforts worldwide. This year the goal is to reach $500,000. $700,000. $750,000.
 
Donors receive a chance to win fabulous books, games, and other prizes in the Prize Draw. There is an Auction where you can bid on many rare collectibles. As in years past, the most creative and interesting folks in the writing and gaming industries will be joining the fun. Watch for exclusive blog posts, tweets, Facebook postings, and other Worldbuilders’ social media for exciting details with the hashtag #S2LF2.
 
Also, keep an eye on Patrick Rothfuss’s Twitch throughout the week of the fundraiser, as he will be streaming every day from 1 pm-4 pm CT. Sometimes Pat may be on earlier or stay later; he even may show up unannounced.
