Tales From Eriador & Ruins of Eriador Have Also Been Released Today for The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying 5E

Stockholm, Sweden (November 14, 2023) — Adventures await you in Middle-earth, the time has come to explore the lands and live to tell the tales. Free League Publishing today released the epic expansion Tales From the Lone-Lands for the multiple award-winning The One Ring™ RPG.

But that’s not all, as the 5E version of the expansion, Tales From Eriador for The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying, has been released alongside Ruins of Eriador, the 5E version of the previous The One Ring™ expansion, Ruins of the Lost Realm.
All three volumes are now available in the Free League webshop, in PDF format at DriveThruRPG, and in hobby stores worldwide.
Tales From the Lone-Lands and its 5E adaptation Tales From Eriador include:

  • A Troll-Hole, If Ever There Was One and Kings of Little Kingdoms are relatively self-contained adventures, but still hint at a growing danger.
  • Messing About In Boats directly involves one member of the Company, in an unexpected way!
  • Not To Strike Without Need and Wonder of the Northern World follow the slow infiltration of spies of the Enemy.
  • The Quest of Amon Guruthos challenges the heroes to battle an ancient evil.

Ruins of Eriador is a 5E adaptation of the previously published Ruins of the Lost Realm and includes:

  • Chapter 1: Fog Over Eriador offers a description of the regions that once were part of the kingdom of Arnor, with a focus on the city of Tharbad.
  • Chapter 2: A Gathering Storm provides the Loremaster with a set of narrative elements aimed at building a possible future for the land of Eriador as a whole, including the description of many looming threats, Loremaster characters and their agendas.
  • Chapter 3: Landmarks adds twelve sites of interest in the style of the one presented in the core volume. These locations depict both ‘historical’ sites mentioned in The Lord of the Rings™ or The Hobbit™, and others that have been created specifically for the game.

The One Ring™ Roleplaying Game and The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying for 5E

The One Ring™ roleplaying game is based on The Hobbit™ and The Lord of the Rings™, two extraordinary works of fiction by the beloved author and respected academic, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. With these books, Tolkien introduced readers to his greatest creation, the world of Middle-earth, a mythic land from a remote past. With The One Ring™, Middle-earth is yours to explore — you will travel the land searching for clues about the return of the Shadow, and have the chance to play a part in the struggle against the Enemy…
First released in 2011, The One Ring™ was hailed as the best attempt at bringing Middle-earth to the gaming table to date. With the praised and award-winning The One Ring™  Second Edition, the game has entered a new era and bring players further into the Twilight of the Third Age. Earlier this year, The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying was released, the 5E adaptation of The One Ring RPG.
