To celebrate the upcoming launch of The Serpent and the Sands for Acthung! Cthulhu, Modiphius Entertainment is excited to kick off the Season of the Snake event! This three-week celebration is packed to the brim — including short PDF Priority Mission tie-ins, a Let’s Play Series, AMAs, a design competition, and of course, the Print and PDF release of The Serpent and the Sands campaign book.

The Serpent and the Sands (Print and PDF)
Your complete guide to North Africa, The Serpent and the Sands for Acthung! Cthulhu 2D20 is a fantastic campaign book for both GMs and players. With an epic 10-part campaign that takes you from Alexandria to Cairo via Tobruk, visiting lost Alexandrian temples, bizarre oases, sinister caravanserais, and forgotten temples, players will face a tough battle against the might of the invidious Ophidians.
This campaign book also contains the following:
- New character options
- A complete guide to the Serpent People, their history, culture, creatures, technology, and equipment, including a major new spellbook of Yig
- A free digital copy of John Houlihan’s novella, Tomb of the Aeons, the original inspiration for the entire campaign

Two Section M: Priority Files
With a main mission, map, and plenty of adventure seeds, Modiphius is offering two dangerous forays into enemy territory to get you excited and inspire your North African adventures. Our Lady of the Eternal Sapphire (April 11) features a weird and unholy monastery on the outskirts of Cairo, while Raid on Zuara 2 is a fantastic assault on a desert airfield overrun by Nazi nasties (April 25).
A Let’s Play Series From Sky Hammer Press
The splendid folks at Sky Hammer Press will take on the role of the Falcons of Fortune and fly free for a six-part playthrough of the first Serpent mission: Dying to Meet You. They’ll also provide hints, tips, rules, guides, and explanations of playing Achtung! Cthulhu 2D20. If you’ve never seen the game in action before but have always been curious about what it entails, this is the perfect place to start!
Two AMAs (Asp Me Anything)
Prepare your questions, as the Achtung! Cthulhu development team is ready to discuss the inner workings of designing the game and where the product line is heading next! The team is holding two AMAs to bookend the Season of the Snake:
- April 18: The team focuses on The Serpent and the Sands itself — what went into its making and how its many mysteries were conceived
- April 25th: Creative Lead John Houlihan hosts a special look into the future of the series and reveals what you can expect from this year and next.
A Design Competition
Modiphius is excited to open the doors to budding creators, with a competition to design a new Section M: Priority Mission, a short scenario with a map and adventure seeds. The best ones will not only win some exciting prizes, but they’ll be published and given an official Achtung! Cthulhu release.
