As you know, Modiphius has been a major player ever since it all started with the amazing Achtung! Cthulhu TTRPG and since, this amazing British publisher has brought us great tabletop roleplaying games, board games, card games, novels, and miniature battle games such as Fallout, Star Trek Adventures, Conan: Adventures in an Age Unheard Of, Skyrim: The Adventure Game, the Kung Fu Panda Board Game, The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms Tabletop Miniature Game, SPECTRE, and much more.
Although Modiphius has its own proprietary 2d20 system, Blood and Doom will still be using its own player-facing d10 dice pool rules set, and we will be Kickstarting not one, not two, but three books, plus a heap of extras.
The Blood and Doom Core Rulebook will allow you to play the game without the need for any other books, and includes the rules, Classes and advice for Doomsayers on how to run the game.
The Blood and Doom Doomsayer’s Codex: Guide to Athyr will introduce the setting of Athyr, including its five major regions, all described in detail, and adding a ton of extra monsters to use in your game.
Finally, the Blood and Doom Doomsayer’s Codex: Twelve Pillars of Doom will get you intimately familiar with the twelve major cults operating on Athyr, each of them worshipping another foul extra-dimensional entity known as a Herald of Doom. It adds the horror and mystery you’ll need if you would like to take a deeper dive into the dark fantasy aspects of the game.
Blood and Doom will Kickstart on the 21st of March, and during the next three days, we’ll post more information on each book… However, before we launch our crowdfunding campaign together with Modiphius, we’ll still give everyone three FREE Primer books, totaling over 500 pages. Each of these Primers will reflect the aforementioned books, with enough material to experience the game until the Kickstarter books are delivered to your home later this year. What’s more: two adventures will be included as well, so you can immediately start playing!
