Leyline Press Launches Horse Girl by Samuel Mui for Zinequest 2023

Leyline Press is proud to announce it is publishing Horse Girl a solo GM-less journaling game in which you will document your surgical and mental transformation into a horse.

Created by Samuel Mui a tabletop roleplaying game designer from Malaysia who makes games about everyday people and extraordinary worlds.  Horse Girl is Inspired by such lovely films as: Tusk, The Human Centipede Trilogy, Boxing Helena, and Equus.

You are a woman in her late 20s. Life has not been kind to you, as much as you have tried to make things work.

But things changed when you met Him: a handsome, intelligent young doctor who came into your life and saw the light in you where everyone else saw emptiness.

As time went on, you fell deeper in love as you grew further and further away from your friends and family – to the point where  they barely seemed to exist anymore.

So when He offers you a room in His mansion where the both of you can live together in bliss for the rest of your lives, you say “Yes!” – even if the sole condition is that you’ll be surgically and mentally transformed into a horse.

Horse Girl was directly inspired by “The Wretched”, by Chris Bissette, and by The Wretched & Alone SRD. The game was created using “How to Make a Wretched Game” by Litza.

The ZineQuest 2023 Kickstarter campaign for Horse Girl is live now. Leyline Press has an initial funding goal of £850 to fund the printing of a physical, riso printed version of Horse Girl as well as updated art and layout and a unique, custom card deck for use with the game.

You can support the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/leyline-press/horse-girl

Horse Girl will be riso printed in house at the Leyline Press Studios and is the first of many new publishing projects supporting indie designers in the tabletop community.
