One More Multiverse to Combine Tabletop RPGs with Video Game-Styled Creative Elements

Multiverse, Inc. Invites Tabletop and Digital Gamers to Create, Build, and Explore Worlds Together in a Welcoming, Inclusive, and Complete Role-Playing Experience

CAMBRIDGE, MA (April 13, 2021) — Multiverse, Inc., a digital tabletop RPG and electronic entertainment developer, today unveiled One More Multiverse, their online tabletop RPG (TTRPG)/video game platform. One More Multiverse is based on the “virtual tabletop” (VTT) concept where tabletop RPG players and streamers can gather online to play in shared games, complete with character sheets, rulesets, custom settings, and, of course, dice! Multiverse’s product advances the VTT concept, making it so users can create game assets and art, custom rules (aka “homebrew”), and even entire game systems, all within a familiar and friendly digital environment reminiscent of classic video game RPGs. Users will also be able to share or sell their creations on the One More Multiverse marketplace, making it the perfect place for current and aspiring indie RPG creators to find a home! Currently in Closed Beta, Multiverse is planning a Q3 2021 full release of the platform.

“Tabletop RPGs are all about having a shared storytelling experience and building a world together, and we want One More Multiverse to help make it easy to create and dive into those stories,” said Thariq Shihipar, CEO and cofounder. “We also want One More Multiverse to be welcoming to indie creators; whether they’re mapmakers, avatar designers, artists, writers, or adventure builders, we will have room for everyone to build and play.”

One More Multiverse is an online video game platform making it as easy as possible to make, play, stream, and share tabletop role-playing games. The platform includes a creator-focused marketplace for showcasing and sharing user-created content, from player avatars to adventure maps to entire rule systems! For every one person who plays tabletop games, there are ten more who would play if getting started was just more intuitive and One More Multiverse is being built to make digital tabletop games accessible to both types of players! Jump into your next adventure with friends, whether they’re across the table or across the world, in a click with One More Multiverse.

Features of One More Multiverse Include:

  • A unique free-to-play platform that combines elements of video games and TTRPGs in a way that’s friendly to new players but offers depth for more advanced game systems
  • A creator-centric platform that center indie game players and designers first
  • Built by a majority POC team of programmers, artists, and writers with experience in RPGs, graphic novels, and UX design
  • Less focus on rules, more on an engaging, improvisational, fun experience for both GMs and players
  • An inclusive experience —  community practices like safety tools, sharing pronouns, body shape variation, inclusive character traits, and more, ensure a welcoming world for everyone

More info about One More Multiverse is available on Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, and the Multiverse official website, with info on their upcoming products to be announced on the same.

About Multiverse, Inc.
Multiverse, Inc. is a gaming startup building the digital future of tabletop roleplaying games. OMM was founded in 2019 in Boston, MA, when three friends tried and struggled to play TTRPGs. As an Arab woman, a Black man, and a South Asian man, they did not often see themselves reflected in the genre’s stories. These nerdy friends also happened to be 2 MIT Media Lab engineers and an illustrator whose credits include Marvel and Star Wars. Multiverse was featured in the Y Combinator Winter 2020 class, going on to successfully raise a seed round of $2.5M from investors like Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, and prominent VCs like Makers Fund. They seek out diversity in their storytelling and within their team, and have built a permanently remote company to commit to inclusion. They are determined to help change the gaming industry for the better with the guiding principle: Good People that make Great Games.
