The Sunday Special

“Imaginary Book Club” will be on the Worldbuilders’ Twitch Channel
“You haven’t read these books — don’t worry, we haven’t either.”

Imaginary Book Club is a comedy improv panel where each participant “reviews” a book that does not exist, and the other people riff on that. You might hear us review the recently unearthed Babysitters’ Club book by Isaac Asimov, a newly discovered YA dystopia by F. Scott Fitzgerald, or the 90s-nostalgia horror anthology “I’ll Be There for Your Blood.

Background
Now through December 15, Worldbuilders is hosting a number of Livestream panels and events, including an online charity auction, to raise money for Heifer International supporting their humanitarian efforts worldwide. This year the goal is to reach $500,000.

Donors receive a chance to win fabulous books, games, and other prizes in the Prize Draw. There is an Auction where you can bid on a number of rare collectibles. As in years past, the most creative and interesting folks in the writing and gaming industries will be joining the fun, such as Anthony Rapp from Star Trek Discovery. Watch for exclusive blog posts, tweets, Facebook postings, and other Worldbuilders social media for exciting details with the hashtag #S2LF2.

Also keep an eye on Patrick Rothfuss’s Twitch throughout the week of the fundraiser, as he will be streaming everyday from 1pm-4pm CT. Sometimes Pat may be on earlier or stay later, he even may show up unannounced.

Worldbuilders believes that people will always help others when given the chance. It’s their aim to give everyone that chance. Worldbuilders is a non-profit that does one thing: they raise money for charities they respect that might otherwise get overlooked by the geek community. The Worldbuilders team is full of geeks, gamers, and book nerds, and people who tend to respect intelligent solutions–whether it’s a rock-solid magic system in a favorite fantasy series, or an airtight game mechanic that’s easy to learn and offers amazing variety. Over the last ten years, Worldbuilders–with the support of the community of awesome geeks–has raised more than $9.6 million for Heifer International. https://worldbuilders.org
