FiveEvil is Funded and Breaking Down Stretch Goals!

Scottish creator-owned indie outfit Handiwork Games is back on Kickstarter with FiveEvil. The game has funded and is now unlocking various enhancements to the book and free scenarios for the game from big name friends of the company.

Next up is a free PDF scenario from Gareth Hanrahan:  A renowned writer and game designer from Ireland. He’s written *deep breath* half of the award-winning Dracula Dossier campaign, Eyes of the Stone Thief, Cthulhu City, Moria: Through The Doors of Durin, The Darkening of Mirkwood, and a bunch of novels including the Gutter Prayer and the Sword Defiant. Also, long ago he wrote OGL Horror, so FiveEvil is like coming full circle…

FiveEvil is a twisted up, mutated version of the 5th edition rules set. It takes the basic components of 5e – thinks like Combat Encounters, Difficulty Class, and Inspiration – and changes them into something new and refreshingly terrifying.

FiveEvil is designed to evoke the horror genre via a set of clever twists on the underlying fifth edition ruleset. The primary focus is modern day horror, inspired by the work of Stephen King, and moody, character-driven horror films like The Ritual, The Descent and Jacob’s Ladder, alongside mini-series like Midnight Mass by Mike Flanagan, and the scariest of Twin Peaks episodes.

What people are saying about FiveEvil

“5e rules twisted to horrific efficacy. There’s some brilliant game design here.” Francesco Nepitello, Designer, The One Ring, The War of the Ring

“FiveEvil is a lean, chilling, and merciless engine for horror roleplaying. It dissects both the horror genre and the 5e system and then – with infernal ingenuity – stitches something new and blasphemous together from the grisly remains” – Chris Gardiner, Narrative Director, Failbetter Games

The FiveEvil campaign runs for another two weeks.
