Today, Free League Publishing<\/a> launched the Kickstarter campaign for the narrative art book Swedish Machines<\/em>. The campaign was successfully funded in 26 minutes, surpassing its initial funding goal of $24,500\u00a0USD.<\/p>\n

St\u00e5lenhag’s\u00a0most personal work yet, Swedish Machines<\/em> explores masculinity, friendship, and sexuality in a queer science fiction tale about two young men stuck in the past \u2013 and in each other\u2019s orbit. Their story spans decades, as fleeting moments become defining memories, and they set out to explore a mysterious forbidden zone together.<\/p>\n

Set in his native Sweden and based in an alternate version of M\u00e4lar\u00f6arna outside of Stockholm, where he grew up and still lives today, Swedish Machines<\/em> juxtaposes giant futuristic machines and vehicles against the inner turmoil of the characters facing a social dystopia.<\/p>\n

The Kickstarter campaign for Swedish Machines<\/em> concludes on September 5 at 3 PM EDT \/ 9 PM CEST.<\/p>\n
