That\u2019s the idea that drives Coridden, an inventive new action-RPG from Sweden-based developer Aftnareld and being published in summer 2024 by Anshar Publishing. Coridden is launching a Kickstarter campaign today at Kickstarter<\/a>, and a free demo of the game can be downloaded now at Steam<\/a> Coridden will also be featured during Steam Next Fest on Feb. 5, 2024.<\/p>\n

As darkness envelops the ancient city of Aasha and its ancient secrets \u2013 and treasures \u2013 you and your siblings set forth, determined to brave the evil spilling across the land and leave your mark. While many fell victim to the sinister shadows in the past, you have something they don\u2019t: a knack for shapeshifting.<\/p>\n

Coridden follows a family of warriors who become the enemies they defeat \u2013 any enemy. If you can fight it, you can be it. Developer Aftnareld crafted every battle so you can approach it however you wish, whether you\u2019re a formidable magic monster or a plain ol\u2019 human. Coridden lets you nurture or neglect your human and monster skills as you see fit to create a unique playstyle all your own, combining abilities, making new weapons, and pulling off wild experimental combos in tense, real-time battles.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot going on at any moment, but if it all gets too much for one person, you can team up with friends for four-player co-op.<\/p>\n

Shapeshifting gives you an edge outside of combat as well. Monsters come in all forms and specialties, and some grant you new skills to reach hidden areas and solve challenging puzzles. You can shapeshift at any point during battle or exploration and forge your own path through the darkness \u2013 assuming it doesn\u2019t consume you first.<\/p>\n
