Los Angeles (November 2nd, 2021)<\/strong>, The latest game from award-winning RPG developers and publishers, Hunters Entertainment (Alice is Missing, Kids on Bikes) is Exquisite Crime<\/a>.<\/strong> The\u00a0whimsical surrealistic detective tabletop storytelling game has successfully funded on Kickstarter, unlocking a near limitless storytelling adventure, including character creation utilizing Zenner cards (the cards with symbols on them to test ESP, seen in movies like Ghostbusters or Constantine).<\/p>\n

Exquisite Crime<\/strong> comes from the amazing minds of Banana Chan (Jiangshi, Dune: Adventures in the Imperium RPG<\/em>), and Sen-Foong Lim (Batman The Animated Series – Rogues Gallery, Scooby Doo: Escape From Haunted Mansion<\/em>). It\u2019s a new, game master-less, storytelling game: where players play as Paranormal Detectives in a surreal world, taking turns transcribing their ‘visions’ to another player who renders their words into a drawing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the same way Alice is Missing<\/strong> innovated the storytelling genre with a text application, we\u2019re looking to empower others to bring their artistic efforts to the table in Exquisite Crime.\u201d<\/em> says Ivan Van Norman, one of the partners at Hunters Entertainment<\/p>\n

Exquisite Crime<\/em> is reminiscent of games like A Quiet Year<\/em> and A Fake Artist Goes to New York<\/em> where by the end of gameplay, there is a tangible artifact that the players have created during the game. This is done by having players draw several \u201cExquisite Corpse\u201d, which is a classical fine art exercise that involves using collaborative drawing, in this case, to explore crime scenes and solve mysteries ranging from the quirky to the surreal to the downright monstrous.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Exquisite Crime is currently seeking to fulfill stretch goals, which includes more of its Vision Cards, as well as guest writers for settings to be included in the core game.<\/p>\n

Exquisite Crime<\/em> is set to release to its backers in Late 2022, with an early 2023 release for retailers.<\/p>\n
