Fans of S. L. Huang and her Cas Russell novels can purchase signed copies of “Critical Point” and the previous books in the series through the Worldbuilders Marketplace  Please click here to purchase her books.  During the Geeks4Hope.com  event, she will sign each book. “I’ve been an admirer of Worldbuilders for such a long time. Science fiction and fantasy folk coming together to do good–it’s the real life version of the superheroics we all dream of!” said Huang. “ The joy of books meets the joy of helping people; how could I not be thrilled to be a part of that?”
Weapons expert, professional stuntwoman for Hollywood’s Battlestar Galactica, and bestselling author Huang has fused her real life background to create math-genius mercenary Cas Russell. First introduced in the calculating action thriller Zero Sum Game, Cas finds herself in a game of mental manipulation. In the mind-melding sequel, Null Set, she officially decides to Fight Crime (i.e. save the world) while seeking out answers about her own powers. Now readers can catch up with Cas and her friends in CRITICAL POINT (Tor Books, April 28)…but the past also seems to be catching up with her.
With her extraordinary mathematical ability, Cas Russell has stopped a shadow organization from brainwashing the world and discovered her past was deliberately erased and her superhuman abilities deliberately created.
And that’s just the start: when a demolitions expert targets Cas and her friends, and the hidden conspiracy behind Cas’s past starts to reappear, the past, present, and future collide in a race to save one of her dearest friends.
“S. L. Huang is amazing’” said Rothfuss. “I’m a relatively new fan of her work, but that means I get to enjoy her writing with the unabashed enthusiasm of fresh love. I hope that before too long, the world will be such that she can come out personally and visit the Worldbuilders team in Wisconsin. Until then I’m delighted and grateful that she’s willing to help us make the world a better place… while also joining us in modeling good, responsible social distancing.”
S. L. Huang has a math degree from MIT and is a weapons expert and professional stuntwoman who has worked in Hollywood on Battlestar Galactica and a number of other productions. Her novels include the Cas Russell series (formerly known as Russell’s Attic), which includes “Zero Sum Game,” “Null Set,” and “Critical Point.” Huang’s short fiction has appeared in Strange Horizons, Nature, Daily Science Fiction, and The Best American Science Fiction & Fantasy 2016.
