New Four-Player Game Based on Cartoon Network’s Fan Favorite TV Series Adventure Time
Lake Forest, CA – August 29, 2016 – Cryptozoic Entertainment (cryptozoic.com), leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, is pleased to announce the release of the Adventure Time Card Wars Doubles Tournament game on August 31, 2016.
The time has finally come to set sail for the Card Wars Doubles Classic! Get ready to floop the Cooper and enter the Adventure Time Card Wars Doubles Tournament. In the newest Cartoon Network release from Cryptozoic Entertainment, it’s all about team dynamics as players take on the epic card game, first introduced in the Peabody and Emmy® award winning TV series Adventure Time, in a whole new way. Expanding on the previous one-on-one Card Wars experience, the game allows four players to become characters from the series as Jake and Charlie “Team Dignified” take on Grand Prix and Moniker’s “After School Program.” Play is inspired by the action from the “Daddy-Daughter Card Wars” episode and features battles taking place on a field of eight Lanes, just like on the show.
Adventure Time Card Wars Doubles Tournament introduces two new kinds of cards that can be utilized by both team members: Teamwork Cards are placed in front of the player who activates it but can be used by both players on a team, and Teammate Cards can be passed between teammates after being used, instead of being put into the discard pile.
Teams start with 40 Hit Points, and damage to either Teammate reduces this total. The objective is to reduce the opposing Team’s shared Hit Points from 40 to 0. The teammates who succeed in doing this will win the Doubles Tournament and have bestowed upon them the coveted title of “Cool Dudes!”
Players can create an endless variety of unique card decks by shuffling in cards from the previous Adventure Time Card Wars Collector’s Packs and Booster Packs, which can all be stored in the large Adventure Time Card Wars Doubles Tournament collector’s box.
- 160 Game Cards
- 16 Landscape Tiles
- 4 Hero Cards
- Lots of Hit Point and Frozen Tokens
- 1 Rulebook
