Kickstarter Launched for Rebuilding the Realms of Twilight for Pathfinder

NEWBURGH, IN   MARCH 15, 2014 – Silver Crescent Publishing is pleased to announce the launch of our Kickstarter entitled Rebuilding the Realms of Twilight.  The original Realms of Twilight Campaign Setting hardcover book was released in the fall of 2010 for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rule set.  This 256 page work spanned five continents, and more than 40 notable locations.  The bards would be proud of this endeavor, for the book contained almost a half-score of legends from ancient wars and cataclysmic events, showing the living, breathing, history of this dark world.  We focused on creating a setting filled with wonder to inspire the imagination and provide a plethora of roleplaying opportunities, while still providing new character options, deities and much more, so everyone had something they could enjoy, but that was only the beginning.

Front-Cover-Cropped-With-PathfinderThe initial release sold hundreds of copies across the world, selling out two full printings and spawning a pair of accompanying adventures set within its lands.  Now we aim to take our vision to the next level, and improve upon our setting, to ensure solid foundation for future ideas and products to come.  If you’ve been watching the Silver Crescent Publishing Facebook page over the last several weeks then you’ve already gotten a glimpse of what we have in mind, and some of the people we have already brought on board for the project (as well as our sense of humor… we apologize for that…).  Jocelyn Sarvida will be updating almost every interior art piece in the book along with the stunning new cover she has already put together for us, showing us the glory of the capital city of the Illurian empire.  Our cartographer Jen Page is already bringing the world to life with new continent maps as well as a rendering of the world in its entirety, and the father of the Forgotten Realms, Ed Greenwood will be helping us bring the past to life with a legend of ancient times!

In addition to the almost limitless font of talent we’ve tapped in the execution of this project, there will be a significant amount of new content added into revised edition of the book.   We will be adding statistics blocks for all of the major settlements, new spells, a new race, redesigning the graphics and layout, and many more exciting features.  As the preverbal cherry on top (or strawberries for those whom cherries have committed some unholy wrong against) the whole book will be professionally edited from cover to cover.  While we have a great many ideas and several members of our team have already begun their parts of the project, we need the support of our fellow gamers to bring the dark world to light once again.

ABOUT THE REALMS OF TWILIGHT SETTING:  Unlike most other worlds in the sphere of Pathfinder’s influence, the world of Relistan is a place of shadows and darkness, having been absent from the sun’s rays for thousands of years.  The world’s flora and fauna, savage and civilized alike, have learned to adapt to the moonlit world by drawing warmth and energy from other sources.  It is a post-apocalyptic fantasy setting filled with savagery and danger, yet amidst the darkness of a sunless world, empires and kingdoms rise, giving birth to political intrigue, strained treaties, war and occasionally even peace.  Visit our website at www.realmsoftwilight.com (updates there as well coming soon) for a deeper look into the world and the people of the Realms of Twilight or download the updated sample of our book at Drivethrurpg.com or Paizo.com.

ABOUT SILVER CRESCENT PUBLISHING:  We are a third party publisher that focuses on the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rule set.  The original Realms of Twilight Campaign Setting was our first major release, and was followed by Lycan’s Bane and Claws of Pelazin, adventures set on two different continents of the world.  While we still have a great many projects underway including novels, an arctic adventure path whose prequel adventure will only be available via the Kickstarter, and a supplemental book of magic, we believe that in order to move forward, we need to refine our foundation.  Roleplaying games should be an interactive story created by those gathered around the table, be it by the deadly slash of a greatsword, the political machinations of a local baron (or the party…?), or delving into hidden tomes in search of ways to craft the ultimate construct.  We aim to facilitate that creativity in a world of deep history and infinite possibilities, and aid those storytellers in weaving timeless legends of their own.

Good gaming to you all and may your dice be always kind.
